Inferring

We continue to work and work hard in our classroom.  Our work is never done.

Inferring.  Rather a difficult skill for some of us to master.  It involves using the clues left behind by the author and what we already know to make conclusions.  Author's don't always give us all the information, so rather like being detectives we must read the clues and figure things out for ourselves.    I like to use the Pixar short films for practice.  We looked at 'Geri's Game' today and discussed all the things we saw, what we knew and then the inferences we could make.  Tons of fun.

We were shape shifters in math this morning.  Starting with a triangle and working our way up to shapes with 10 sides.  We then compared and contrasted the quadrilateral family.  I have to say, a good job was done by all.

We looked at different types of bridges in Calgary - noting the arches, beams, foundations and spans.
Bridge projects are due Monday June 25.
